Role Description

The Senior Accountant is responsible for many aspects of general ledger-related activities including proper application of US GAAP accounting to transactions, , month-end reconciliation process, financial reporting, and analysis as assigned by the Corporate Controller.


The part you'll play:

  • Execute monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reporting)
  • Prepare accounting entries and understand underlying transactions for various financial activities
  • Evaluate financial activities to determine appropriate GAAP accounting treatment and adherence to internal policies and controls
  • Interpret financial transactions and resolve accounting discrepancies
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports for internal and external use
  • Assist with external audits
  • Develop and implement key processes with focus on automation, scalability, and efficiency
  • Prepare and maintain process documentation
  • Advise business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls and provide support on special requests
  • Coordinate with third party vendors to obtain inputs for financial reporting and to monitor compliance with service level agreements
  • Other financial analysis and special projects as assigned


What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required
  • 2-4 years of experience in public accounting, or 4+ years in the corporate accounting environment is required.
  • Prior knowledge and experience in the real estate industry is preferred
  • Active CPA or minimum requirements met for CPA (with progress in sitting for the examination) is preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks with excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Forward looking thinker, who is proactive in identifying issues and proposing solutions
  • Self-starter with strong work ethic, and ability to take the initiative on projects
  • Prior experience in strategic and tactical analysis in a fast paced enviroment
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite
