  • Role Description

    The Controller is responsible monitoring and managing the accounting function, including consolidation, monthly and quarterly closes, cash management, policy and procedure compliance, coordination of audits and tax returns, and streamlining the financial reporting of the Mainstreet entities, including both internal and external statements.


    Other Responsibilities: 


    • Monitor and supervise the accounting function for portfolio companies.
    • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close and consolidation process.
    • Assist in providing monthly, quarterly, annual financial statements and budget variances to senior management.
    • Collaborate closely with business leaders to provide financial support and counsel on a wide variety of topics.
    • Analyze critical accounting policies and ensure compliance.
    • Assist in providing operational and corporate financial analyses and projections to senior management and other key decision makers.
    • Oversee maintenance of the accounting system and financial statements.
    • Assist in monitoring and management of cash for portfolio companies.
    • Streamline accounting processes including implementation of best practices in all aspects of accounting process, including procurement, accounts payable, etc.
    • Assist in managing various external audits and tax returns.

    What we’re looking for

    • CPA required
    • 4-7 years of public accounting experience
    • 3+ years of leading a team
    • Interacting with external investors, creditors and stakeholders preferred 
    • Private accounting experience preferred
    • Real estate experience preferred
    • Extensive technical accounting experience with US GAAP including ability to conduct research, identify the most appropriate position, and document conclusions in a formal memo
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Proven coach and mentor with a strong dedication to team member development
    • Willingness to challenge the status quo to identify areas for improvement
    • Proactive approach for implementing needed changes
    • Strong track record of collaborating with cross-divisional and departmental team members to foster environment of teamwork
